Very smooth
I used to drink Scotch when I was a student - sometimes with water, often without. But when I went to college (TCD Dublin) I came across Irish whiskey, which one bought as a 'chaser' with one's pint of Guinness. So now, much much older, and in search of something to enjoy now I am retired, I selected this. And it is very, very smooth - but also (if taken neat) quite a shock to the system. So, even if it is not de rigeur, and is looked down upon by those who know, I take it with some water. Anyway, it is a great drink. The only complaint I have is nothing to do with the quality of the whiskey, but the packaging. The bottle was rattling about in the box with a bit of brown paper at the top and the bottom and nowhere near as secure a it should have been. Well, it didn't break in transit; I am surprised it got here in one piece. If you want to try an Irish whiskey, then you can't go far wrong woth this one. Edit - bought another bottle. Packing - sturdy box but just a bit of brown paper at top - bottle rattling about. Apart from the poor packing the whiskey itself is excellent
Irish or Scotch.
Amazing drop of Irish Whiskey. Started drinking this a few years back when parents bought back a duty free bottle. Even prefer this to the 10 year old malt version. To be honest probably prefer over most Scotch that I have tried. Seems there are a lot of peope that have discovered Irish Whiskey & actually prefer it to Scotch. Like to drink this straight from the bottle with no mixers-really warming and smooth. UPDATE: We were burgled recently. The low life got away with my wallet and guess what.They took my Litre bottle of Bushmills Black Bush which was sitting unopened on my sideboard. Low life's never knew what a great whiskey they were nicking. I bet they do now. Hope it gave them the worst hangover. Had to order another replacement bottle luckily Amazon had it at a great price.

Empty Already 🙁 The Spirit of Father Jack must have called upon me.. the scoundrel, I could have sworn it was half full last night 😉 Nice Irish whiskey.. very smooth going down the hatch, a darker hue than regular Bushmills. Has a 'winey' fruity nose to it.. must be them 'sherry casks, then!' .. more of a straight sipping whiskey to appreciate the flavours, no ice needed.. take it at room temp' I likes Irish coffee with a Passion too.. with double shot of espresso & cream.. This too good & far too subtle & mellow for that, lost in the coffee.. The Stronger & 'Raw/Harsher' flavour Irish is better for that.. Reg' Bushmills etc. .. I like to feel & taste the Kick in the coffee. Very Nice Sipper though.. Just keep that Father Jack Hackett away from it though, I'll have to buy another bottle now ?

Another one to the list!
This is the second Irish whiskey I've tried recently; following on from Paddy's, and, again, I'm surprised. I have to justify this by admitting that I'm no whiskey expert or drinks snob. I try it and I either like it enough to get again or feel indifferent to its charms. Bushmills is a warmly soft whiskey, a little less heavy-hitting than Paddy's, but in terms of enjoyment, I'd easily put them neck-and-neck. As I say in my Paddy's review, I've yet to try this whiskey with some ginger wine, but a good whiskey undiluted is usually only enhanced when paired with ginger wine! Recommended.
